The servicer was attentive and informative. the soup was really delicious. I could have eaten it as a meal with a slice of cornbread and would have been happy; it was hearty. the liver was cooked and seasoned well; not tough. the vegetables were firm not mushy possibly blanched or steamed the mashed potatoes with gravy was also good
A trip back in time to dinner houses with great steaks, environment, jungle theme, dark, and bobby a friendly waiter, Shirley the bartender and good food. If you sit at bar, order the bar steak, under 20 dollars, always good and then talk to your neighbor who grew up around here. Like me ! You can reminisce !
the food was delicious! i got the special of the day which was sirloin and shrimp the guy who greeted us was wonderful and amazing! service could be better, they missed some stuff in our order for example i was asked if i wanted my margarita to be blended or on the rocks i was given on the rocks when i specifically asked for blended the atmosphere is great love the decorations bathroom was easy to find! :) the tiramisu did not taste like tiramisu which was disappointing :( overall still a great time
Solid food, solid service. This restaurant is an icon as it has been there since the fifties. The large NY steak was great. The fries? Better potato than most places. Superior. Tight parking in the back, not a looker but a very good meal. Go there for the steaks and the old school ambiance's.
Positives are the food portions and VERY friendly service. Negatives for me is that I didn't 100% like what I ordered. My bf ordered some steak with his lobster and I ordered just the lobster. Mine was a bit rubbery. My salad was drenched in dressing, I should have asked for the dressing on the side, it was just too much dressing I didn't eat my salad. The potato, was the one that they take out the inside and mix it up and then put it back, it was a bit bland. And the side of veggies were also bland. I wished/hoped better for this because my bf kept hyping it up. But I must say, his steak he got ( I can't remember which steak it was) was REALLY GOOD. I would eat that again for sure! I really loved the ambiance of the bar and that everyone there is friends and laughing and knows eachother. I would love to go back and sit at the bar and get to know everyone one day!
